Duodeno

Definición

Es la primera parte del intestino delgado y se localiza entre el estómago y la parte media del intestino delgado o yeyuno.

Después de que los alimentos se mezclan con el ácido estomacal, pasan al duodeno en donde se entremezclan con la bilis proveniente de la vesícula biliar y los jugos digestivos del páncreas.

La absorción de vitaminas, minerales y otros nutrientes comienza en el duodeno.
