Sustancia blanca del cerebro
Información
La sustancia blanca del cerebro contiene fibras nerviosas (axones), muchas de las cuales están rodeadas por un tipo de grasa llamada mielina. La mielina le da a la sustancia blanca su apariencia blanquecina, actúa como un aislante y aumenta la velocidad de transmisión de todas las señales nerviosas.
