Hay diversos pares de glándulas salivales en diferentes ubicaciones: un par principal frente a los oídos (glándulas parótidas); dos pares principales en el piso de la boca (glándulas sublinguales y submaxilares) y varios pares menores dentro de los labios, mejillas y lengua.
