Reparación de amputación

En el caso de una amputación completa, la parte del cuerpo se puede volver a unir, particularmente si el muñón y la parte cercenada reciben los cuidados apropiados. La parte del cuerpo se debe envolver en un pedazo de tela limpio y húmedo, guardarla en una bolsa plástica sellada y sumergir la bolsa en agua fría o, de ser posible, en agua con hielo. El enfriamiento de la parte del cuerpo cercenada la mantendrá viva por mucho más tiempo que si se conserva a temperatura ambiente o más caliente.
