Enfermedad de Creutzfeldt-Jakob

La enfermedad de Creutzfeldt-Jakob es un síndrome cerebral orgánico causado por una partícula parecida a una proteína llamada prion. La pérdida de las funciones cerebrales la hace parecida a la enfermedad de Alzheimer, pero su progreso es muy rápido. A los seis meses se produce demencia total y poco después sobreviene la muerte.
