Gusto

La lengua tiene alrededor de 10,000 papilas gustativas. Estas papilas gustativas están conectadas al cerebro por fibras nerviosas. Las partículas de alimentos son detectadas por las papilas gustativas, las cuales llevan señales nerviosas al cerebro.

Ciertas áreas de la lengua son más sensibles a ciertos sabores, como amargo, ácido, dulce o salado. Muchas veces, las sensaciones de sabor son una mezcla de estas cualidades.
