Circunferencia abdominal

Definición

La circunferencia abdominal es la medición de la distancia alrededor del abdomen en un punto específico, por lo general a nivel del ombligo. Esta medición se utiliza para diagnosticar y monitorear lo siguiente:

  • Acumulación de líquido en el abdomen, en su mayor parte causada por insuficiencia hepática o cardíaca
  • Obesidad
  • Acumulación de gases intestinales, en su mayor parte causada por bloqueo u obstrucción en los intestinos
