Youth sports can be a double-edged sword. On one hand, we want our kids to be active, healthy, and have fun. On the other, the drive to succeed in sports can quickly spin out of control and turn into a burden for both the young athlete and the family. How do you stay in balance?

University of Iowa Children’s Hospital and Genesis are teaming up to offer advice on how to help kids lead active, healthy, and balanced lives. Join us to learn about:

  • fitness, nutrition, and hydration tips
  • pros/cons of early strength training
  • advantages and disadvantages of sports specialization

For Kids

While parents attend the seminar, children ages 10 to 17 will enjoy hands-on sessions with professional trainers to keep them moving including:

  • volleyball
  • pitching
  • basketball
  • interactive games

Make sure your kids wear comfortable clothing! Please note: childcare and activities for children under age 10 will not be available.
