POSITIVE EXPOSURE: The Spirit of Difference
Insults, fear, discrimination and hatred based on genetic, physical and behavioral differences plague our society. Award-winning, former fashion photographer Rick Guidotti challenges the stigma associated with difference by celebrating the beauty of human diversity with POSITIVE EXPOSURE. He offers a fresh perspective on how to best meet the needs of individuals and families with, or at risk for, genetic disorders. Through positive images and powerful life stories, observe how POSITIVE EXPOSURE helps us see individuals living with a genetic difference first and foremost as a human being with his/her own challenges rather than as a specific diagnosis/disease entity
This free community education event was hosted by the Iowa Institute of Human Genetics and the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
